Pappace Place Learning Studio is a "micro-classroom" where I am dedicated to building confidence, curiosity, and strong foundational skills. I provide students with the time, space, and opportunity to inquire, explore, and discover. I personalize instruction using a multisensory approach to meet their needs. I take time to build rapport and make connections with my students so they feel safe, comfortable, and invested in our work together.
Whether a student needs support to catch up, keep up, or get ahead, I will meet them where they are and help them get to where they are going.
Every session is tailored to the individual student — their pace, their style, their goals.

We celebrate progress at every level — from small wins to big breakthroughs.
I personalize tutoring for students in reading, writing, math, and organization. I also support parents with strategies for building strong study habits with their child and preparing for conferences and school meetings.
Hi! My name is Maria Pappace. I am a certified teacher with a BS in Education, N - 6 and an MS in Reading, K-12. I have been teaching for 34+ years. I am retired from my public school career and am so excited about my second career as a private tutor and consultant at Pappace Place Learning Studio. I am very passionate about creating a nurturing and welcoming space where students can explore and learn. For me, teaching is about getting to know each individual student, making meaningful connections, and helping students discover their unique learning style.
As a teacher, it is my goal to help students find their voice, develop confidence, and feel empowered. I teach to their needs, whether it be to build foundational skills, keep up with current content , support homework and organization, or explore beyond their current classroom. I let them know that I am here to coach them, teach them, and guide them.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy my time with my family, Cheech, Jon, and Josh (and our three dogs, Yoakie, Sally, and Willie). I love getting cozy with a good book, taking long walks, exploring the trails of our beautiful area, and spending time with my friends.

What Mrs. Pappace creates and unlocks in her students is nothing short of magical. Her love and passion for teaching shine through in my two children and have not only helped them maintain what they learn in the classroom but also given them confidence in how smart they are. We are grateful to have Mrs. Pappace; the love she gives and the progress my two children have made in the time we have been working with her have been incredible. She is their strongest advocate and helps me find the words to advocate for my kids in their educational journey.
In the time that my daughter has worked with Maria, she's become a more confident student who embraces challenges rather than feeling intimidated by them. Maria is patient and takes the time to get to know each student personally, adapting her teaching strategies to fit their needs. Drawing from her years of experience, she turns lessons that might feel tedious into something fun and exciting. She customizes her plans to align with our daughter's classroom curriculum, giving her room to ask follow up questions and to explore topics more deeply than classroom time may allow. Our daughter's progress and her enthusiasm for learning both reflect the work she and Maria have accomplished together.
My 11 year old son has been working with Maria on math and reading for 3 years. Maria is a kind, patient, and very skilled teacher. She quickly built a strong relationship with my son and has become an instrumental part of his academic confidence. She has also been a wonderful resource for me as we navigate IEP’s and the requirements of public education. I recommend Maria to everyone!
